LUIS

Luis Guerra is a music composer in Los Angeles, an arranger, and a music producer. He is a film composer and an award-winning podcast composer. He has written theme music for TV shows and podcasts, including Freakonomics Radio, Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History Podcast, Happy Forgetting, and No Stupid Questions.

BIOGRAPHY

Luis found creativity through music at the young age of 4 when he started playing drums. At 17, he moved to Austin, Texas to pursue music. As an instrumentalist, he worked with musical luminaries including Patty Griffin, Mose Alison, Money Mark, and Tosca Tango. As a composer, he has written music for Malcolm Gladwell, Freakonomics, Apple, and Ring City. He has scored films, including the indie favorite “18½” and “Bernard and Huey.” His work has taken him into remote parts of the Amazon, where he recorded Shipibo singer Herlinda Flores, featured in the documentary The Woven Songs of the Amazon. He wrote music for Britt Marling’s version of the Disney Classic, “The Little Mermaid” which starred academy award winner Jodie Foster and Dax Shepherd.

LIFE HAPPENS

In 2021, his life took a turn when he was diagnosed with the milder version of Multiple Sclerosis. This led him to take a second look at his life. He decided to add more entrepreneurial ventures to his daily work. This way he could focus some of his time to help others. In 2024, he co-founded “Breathe into Life” with XSeed Global’s Donna Martin. Breathe Into Life is a company currently developing  products that include apparel for disabled people and a supplement to help keep the Brain healthy. He also serves on the RIDE Council which helps overlooked people connect with services.
